タイトル：粉々になった夢…

I went out to Nakayama RC once again, but only cared about the main race being held in Hanshin RC...
Princess Desire which I own a share of had a chance to qualify for the Grade I OUKASHO arriving just in time to run for the trial race, THE TULIP SHO (GIII).
Third place or better earns the ticket to the "yumebutai" (=stage of dreams).
再び中山競馬場に行った。でも興味があったのは阪神競馬場のメインレースだけ…。
一口を所有しているプリンセスデザイアにＧⅠ桜花賞を走るチャンスが。間に合ったんだ何とかトライアルレースのチューリップ賞（ＧⅢ）に。
３着以上なら「夢舞台」へのチケットが手に入るんだ。

Being only the 8th favorite, I knew it was an overambitious run, but that's what you call a dream, right!?

Many songs about dreams, all tend to link "dreams" with "love"...
Another one of my favorite "dream" song of '80s also concludes its lyrics using "love" instead of "dreams".
夢についての唄ってたくさんある。全部「夢」と「愛」をリンクさせる傾向がある…。
もう１つの大好きな８０年代の「夢」唄も歌詞の最後で「夢」を「愛」に置き換えている。

I don't deny the fact that "dreams" and "love" have something in common...
but I know one popular Japanese song that sings purely about fulfilling "dreams" without mentioning "love"...
「夢」と「愛」に共通のものがあることは否定しない…
でも日本のポピュラーな唄で「愛」にふれずに純粋に「夢」を叶えることを唄ったのがある…

One day, I want to own a racehorse of my own and let it run in front of a bunch of audiences.

　タイトルに使っているshattered dreamsは
　もちろん、ジョニー・ヘイツ・ジャズの
　名曲からとったんだけど、直訳で訳した。
　意訳なら「叶わなかった恋」ということになるかな。
　恋が破れたときは確かに「粉々になった夢」という
　イメージがピッタリで、唄では
　そのときの「粉々感」を上手く歌い上げている。
　ほとんどの夢の唄には、邦楽洋楽問わずに
　夢を支える異性がいて、
　「そう、二人で追い続けよう…」って感じで、
　恋人同士で夢を分かち合うって感じのが多い。
　カーペンターズの"Those Good Old Dreams"みたいに
　子供の頃の夢も、愛する人の話にすり替わっている。
　岡村孝子の「夢をあきらめないで」なんてその典型ですね。
　その唄に支えられて結婚した石井が野球選手としての
　夢が終わった途端、別れちゃったのはご愛敬か。
　何となく夢はshatteredになってもあきらめないで
　良い気はするが、愛はshatteredになったら、
　もうあかん気がする。そういう意味では、
　ごっちゃにしちゃいかんと思う。
　恋叶って夢叶う。夢叶って恋叶う。そらええなぁ。
　でも夢破れて恋破れる。恋破れて夢破れる。
　こういう負の連鎖はあっちゃいかんよなぁ。
　それだけに夢のことだけ純粋に唄ってる
　ブルーハーツの唄って貴重だと思うなぁ。
