No lead was considered a lead, as the Cubans slammed in homers to trim a early five run lead by Team Japan. But Team Japan, Ichiro and Fukudome, answered back in the top of the 9th to bring their worldly quest to a successful conclusion.
A match between the two teams that held the opponents to a low scoring game in the semis, turned out to be a clash between two powerful batting line-ups.
