Though being a little concerned about the aftermath of the killer typhoon, I slowly shifted my mind towards the coming general election.
A quite important election... Yes, that's what they say...
I once even thought it could decide the direction our country will head for decades.
Now I'm a little cooled down, as I feel Sunday will be just like the other Sundays...just a little busier, that's all...
Will our country really turn into a rightists' heaven, or stay under the American umbrella...
Will we take a new path towards a welfare state, or be obedient to the Oriental virtue of mutual concessions in Asia...
I think these debatable issues we must care about will be put off till the Postal reformist Prime Minister will leave next year.
So why not be a easy-goer and be a little suspicious about what's goin' on, right?

殺人台風の余波について気になりながら、徐々に総選挙の方に頭を切りかえていった。
かなり重要な選挙…。って、みんな言うじゃない…。
一度はこの国がここ数十年、どの方向へ向かっていくのか決めかねないものだと思ったことがあったぐらいだ。
少し冷静になった今、この日曜もいつもの日曜と同じかなと思うようになった…。少しだけいつもより忙しい、ただそれだけだ…。
この国は本当に右派天国に変わるのか、アメリカの傘の下に居続けるのか…。
福祉国家としての新しい道を進むのか、アジアでお互いに譲り合うという東洋の美徳に従うのか…。
こういった手をつけるべき異論だらけの課題については、この郵政改革総理大臣が来年、席を外すまで先延ばしになりそうだね。
だから少しあくせくせず、今起こってることに少し怪しいなという目を持ちながら、行けばいいよね？

言葉なのに、女性の貞操というような
意味でも使われるvirtue。
色んな国と仲良くやって、調整ができる
国としてやっていくことは美徳だと思う。
力で奪い取るという方が「男らしい」と
普通は思うかもしれないけど、
俺は断然、平和的解決の方が良い。
「男らしさ」を求めながらも、
みんなにとって一番良い結果をひたすら
探すこと。そっちの方が「男らしい」と
思うんだ。
