The defending champions versus the former champions!

performance by Bryan Adams playing my real favorite "Summer of '69" in halftime and one of the legends I still admire, "Dr. J" Julius Erving appeared in the intermissions... spectacular shooting in the fourth quarter for the South American hero Ginobili and the former Finals MVP Duncan, but as a lay-up lover, Pistons' Billups' play in the second quarter was the BEST!

Since it was my turn to get into overnight duty tonight, I had the privilege to stay home till the evening, and luckily I woke up early enough to watch the first game of the NBA Finals. Just as I imagined, it was D vs D, as the game was a real low scoring 84 to 69 finish. (see http://www.nbafinals.com/finals2005/index.html)

The two cinderalla teams, the run and gun Suns and the high scoring Heat both gave in to the defense of the former champions at the conference finals. I'm a little sad I can't see neither match-ups of Nash and the gang challenging the number one defense of the defending champions nor the heated up bomber Shaq playing against the cooled up "fundamental" Duncan.

Well, not bad to see the game between last year's champions and the champs the year before that. Though they miss one of the twin towers, the retired David Robinson in the white jerseys, the Spurs snatched a victory with a high scoring fourth quarter.

... by the way, the winner of the first game has won 15 out of the last 19 series... hmm... lucky enough for the Spurs? Well we still have six games to go. Let's see which defense will do better.

写真：ハーフタイムにはブライアン・アダムスが大好きな「想い出のサマー」 を演奏してた。今でも敬愛する「ドクターＪ」ことジュリアス・アービングが試合の合間にご登場…第４クォーターには南米のヒーロー、ジノービリーと元ファ イナルＭＶＰダンカンのすごいシュートの応酬があったが、レイアップ好きとしては第２クォーターのピストンズのビラップスのプレーが一番だったね！

きょ うは泊まり勤務が当たっている日だったので、夕方まで職場に出なくても良い特権を利用して、何とか早起きしてＮＢＡファイナルの最初の試合を見ること ができた。予想していたとおり、防御対防御となって、８４対６９というすごい低得点試合で終わった。（ＮＢＡファイナルのＨＰ）

２つのシ ンデレラチームのラン＆ガンのサンズと高得点チームのヒートはそれぞれ元王者チームのディフェンスに屈した。ナッシュ＆ギャングが前回王者のナン バーワン・ディフェンスに挑戦するところや熱いボンバー野郎のシャックとクールで「基本に忠実な」ダンカンとのマッチアップが見られないのは少し寂しい。

まぁでも去年の王者とその前の王者の間で行われる試合を見るのも悪くない。ツインタワーの１人、引退したデーヴィッド・ロビンソンが白のジャージーをまとう姿は見られないが、スパーズが第４クォーターで高得点を奪って勝利をかっさらった。

…ところで、第１試合を勝った１９チームのうち１５チームがシリーズを制している。うーん…。スパーズにとって結構ラッキーな話か？まぁでもまだ６試合あるし、どっちのディフェンスが上手く機能するのか見せてもらいましょうか。
