PS
I didn't record the NBA Finals today (yesterday in the States), but I saw the initial score in the 4th Quarter, and I really didn't mind... I just sensed it could be one of the most humiliating game in the glorious history of my favorite team. It was something like that when my favorite baseball team in Japan was wipped three years ago in the Nippon Series.

When I was a child living in the US, the Lakers-Celtics rivalry was everything as I still remember watching nightmares that Larry Bird and the gang were attacking my team when I was thrashing about in bed with a high fever. But it was Boston's first victory in 22 years... Unbelievable... The Boston Garden looks just like it was 22 years ago. Unbelievable...
Well, next year, I firmly believe the victor will be different, of course with the same match-up in the Finals. I hope I can watch it in Iran!

so long to one of my favorite sports... for a while!

The notification...

I was quite anxious from the morning. A very crucial day for me, as I was waiting a call from Tokyo.
I had to make a call in the morning to an Indian ministry in New Delhi at 11AM, and right after that, I got the call...
I was notified by my boss that I will become the "Tehran Bureau Chief".
I went blank for a while... I really did...
Yeah, it was something that I expected, when I was notified privately that I might be transferred to Iran before my trip to India, but I just couldn't sense that I really would be going until I got the notice today...
I have another week here to spend in India, but after that it will be a very rough month... very... it could be even one of the roughest in my whole life!

In the afternoon, I moved to a different hotel and was joined with my filming crew flying in from Mumbai.
We had some wine with them at a late dinner and I was congratulated for this "promotion", but thinking more about the things I have to sacrifice, rather the things I might gain, I was not really in the mood the celebrate...

Oh well, that's life, and someday I hope I truly will feel that this is really one of the best things that happened to me in my whole life!

I had to relax with a mango cake and coffee... relax, relax...

the basketball match was on TV... no time to watch!

Location time

I went on to film with my collegue based in New Delhi. I don't know if I did the right things, but I surely did my best with the resources I have!

In the evening...

it started to rain again!

We went to treat ourselves with...

beef again! this time... a surloin steak!

Well, I did some work today, but now I'm back to where I have to fight with inefficiency... Gotta get more effective results next week!!

PS
After I returned home, I saw the latter half of the Celtics-Pistons Game... Oh, yeah, as all of you expected, including me, Boston won the series. I surely did not expect the Lakers to get to the finals, but now this combination is looking more like the old days, when I loved watching basketball the most!

is it a nightmare again!?

A bad day... with a bad start...

Back home before 2AM... the Western Conference 1st round game was being broadcasted... I couldn't take my eyes off as the game went into the second overtime...

it was tied until 2 seconds left in the second overtime!!

The West is up for grabs! Who can predict the finalist team!
(it's going to be Boston for sure in the East...)

It was an important day, but I really didn't like it when I found out that the library I was planning to visit was closed on Mondays. When the morning starts badly, it's a bad omen for the rest of the day!

Luckily, though many things did not go as the way I wanted to, it wasn't critical...
From now this is the way I should go... to endure any misfortunes and do the best so it won't be a fatal blow!

Jet lag!?

I couldn't sleep... when I look back these few weeks, I realized that maybe I still haven't recovered from jet lag! It's really not good to go to the west direction when you have a habit to stay awake late, as the jet lag reinforces that habit.
Last night I couldn't sleep again and as I had my TV on, I couldn't stop watching the Lakers-Mavericks game on satellite channel from 1AM. It was a very exciting game as my favorite team came back from a 14 point deficit to win the game taking the lead in the last quarter, but was it tough to wake up in the morning to get to the day shift!

After staying till nighttime, I went home and tried to sleep as early as possible... but I didn't... I couldn't...

At the Osaka Hai in Hanshin...

Daiwa Scarlet wins again.. she's not only the best filly, but the fastest of all Japanese horses! Let's see what Vodka, another filly can do at the Victoria Mile!

she was almost taken over with 1 furlong left in the race, but raced back in front! wow!

PS
The 99 yen store "SHOP 99" near my home turned into a 100 yen store "LAWSON STORE 100"!

the goods sold inside was almost equivalent, so hey! that's just a price hike of 1 yen! boo!

After checking out the web that nothing fancy seems to be on the top pages of the papers, I watched the last game of the Finals...

I already knew the young Cavs were eliminated, but I watched it anyways wanting to know how close they were against the invincible Spurs...
Well... they weren't even close though it ended with only a one point gap...

experience exceeded youth this time!

I lost my conscience on my bed when the Spurs were about to wrap up their first victory against the Cavs in the 4th quarter...

Deep into the night, I watched the recorded broadcast of Game 3 between the Mavs and Warriors.

the Warriors win! a 2-1 lead against a 67-15 team!? wow!!

This home team for the Bay Area residents back in California had been running through a long tunnel... 4741 days since the last home game in the playoffs! And Don Nelson was their head coach back then with Chris Mullin and Avery Johnson in the team along with Latrell Sprewell and Chris Webber (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/04/21/SPGLTPD5RE1.DTL).
Oh my brother loved this team back in the 1993-94 season!
