The Worst Railroad Accident in Recent History!!

As I was heading to my office this morning, the breaking news of a terrible accident in the west came in and I was told to head for Osaka right away.
A derailed train of JR West had several of its steel cars crushing into an apartment in Amagasaki City of Hyogo Prefecture, killing dozens instantly.
This was no doubt the worst railroad accident in forty years, and I was ordered to support our team of reporters in the west.
Unexpectedly I was told to join the group covering the JR West headquarters, and not the reporting team at the scene of the accident.
I made it there minutes before two in the afternoon, and a long long day with series of press conferences had begun...

けさ仕事に向かっている途中に、西日本からひどい事故の一報が入ってきて、即座に大阪に向かうよう言われた。
兵庫県尼崎市でＪＲ西日本の電車が脱線。車両の幾つかがマンションに激突し、一瞬で数十人の命が奪われた。
この事故は間違いなくこの４０年間で最悪の鉄道事故で、大阪の取材班を応援するように命ぜられた。
予想に反して、事故現場の取材班ではなく、ＪＲ西日本本社に入るように言われた。
午後２時前に到着したが、そこから何回も記者会見が繰り返される長い長い一日が始まった…。
