Something to ignore...

I tried to ignore the television sets all lined up at our news center, as I didn't want to know how the football game was doing...
ニュースセンターに並んでいるテレビを無視しようとしてた。フットボールの試合がどうなってるか知りたくなかったから…。

But another Livedoor breaking news came in tonight, and my eyes were all aimed up to the special programs hosted by several stations...
Unfortunately I found out that Seattle which I was going to cheer for, was doing fine, as the satellite channel came into sight by accident...
でも、また今夜、ライブドアの大ニュースが入ってきた。お目々は幾つかの局がやっていた特番を狙い撃ちしてしまい…。
残念ながら、衛星チャンネルが視野に入ってきてしまって、応援しようと思っていたシアトルが、まぁまぁいい感じだということが分かってしまった…。

Now, I tried to ignore all my collegues working on the Livedoor crimes and I also ignored any temptations to a pool of alcohol and retired at 11PM to hustle back home!

そして、ライブドア事件を担当する同僚たちを避けるようにした上に、アルコール軍団からの誘惑からも逃れるようにして１１時には仕事を切り上げて、自宅へ急いだ！

　condominiumの略で、
　日本で言う分譲マンションのことを
　アメリカでは、俺の高い「コンドー」はとか
　あいつのでっかい「コンドー」はとか
　お年頃のオトコなら、何か別のことを
　言ってるんじゃないかと思っちゃう
　略し方でコンドミニウムのことを話してます。
　ちなみに日本で言う「マンション」は
　mansionというと、何のこと言ってんのか
　分からん顔されちゃいます。
　俺のマンション（特に賃貸の場合）って
　言う場合、どんなにご立派なところでも、
　apartmentを使ってた。
　外人さまがapartmentと言っても
　「アパート」じゃなくて、
　「マンション」だ！！と思わないように。
