Going out to Roppongi to be a host of a farewell party saying good-bye to my doukis who joined our broadcasting station together back in 1995. The Guests of Honor tonight are 3 fellow comrades going out to Sendai, Nagoya, and Otsu. It could be tough to leave the center of our nation, but at the same time, it could be a great challenge for them!!
I'm still having mixed feelings about staying in Tokyo, saying a lot of excuses to myself... that I have to stay here to take a leading position to the younger generation whether I like it or not. But hey! I still have to watch my own butt!
I'm realizing that being a member of an organization, it won't make anything simple. After all, we're not free-lance reporters. We have to do... well I mean... try to do what we're asked to do.
But meanwhile we could search for the truth... anytime and anywhere! So I'm not playing a double game here. I have no other intentions when I say to my comrades, they can find their own truths at their new world. They surely can!
So just as I truly pray for their success, I hope they can pray for mine!

１９９５年に一緒にこのテレビ局に入った同期たちにサヨナラを言う送別会の幹事を務めるために六本木に。今夜の主賓は仙台、名古屋、大津に行く３人の仲間たち。この国の中心から離れるのは辛いかも知れないけど、同時にそれは素晴らしい挑戦にもなるだろうさ！！
東京に残ることにはまだ複雑な気持ちがある。自分自身に色んな言い訳をしながら…そうしたかろうが、したくなかろうが、若い世代を引っ張っていく立場で居続けないといけない。でもさ！自分のケツのことさえまだ見ないといけないのに！
組織の一員である以上、何も楽なことは無いと実感している。だって俺たちはフリーの記者じゃないんだから。だからやらなきゃいけない…いや、というより…できるだけやらないといけない。言われたことをね。
でもその間に真実を追究することができる…いつでも、どこでも！だからここで偽善者になろうって言ってるんじゃない。新しい世界で自分の真実を見つけられると仲間たちに言う時に他意は全く無い。きっとできるよ！
だから彼らの成功をまさに祈るように、俺のことも祈って欲しいのさ！

My last day off...
I was able to watch the All-Star Game (Game No. 1) till the end as the party was set to start from 9:30PM.
I hope to see this match-up (Matsuzaka vs. Kanemoto) at the Nippon Series!!
Kyuji Fujikawa's performance at the 9th inning was great too!

飲み会は夜９時半からだったんで、オールスター戦（第１戦）を最後まで見られた。
