A "stepping stone" holiday ("stepping stones" are flat stones you see in Japanese gardens set upon at even intervals so you can walk through on them) today, and though we still have a working day tomorrow, I bet everybody took the advantage of having a day off.
But... I wasted half of this beautiful day as I woke up at around 1:30 in the afternoon, maybe a little earlier than other holidays.
I was quite dizzy having too much sleep, but I somehow got myself into gear and went to the hoops to play basketball for about a half an hour.

でも…自分は午後１時半に目が覚めちゃったから、この美しい日の半分を無駄にしてしまった。いつもの祝日よりは少し早めかな。
寝すぎてかなりめまいがしたけど、何とか着替えて半時間ほどバスケをしに行った。

After the race I rushed to Jimbocho, as the last day of the Kanda Second-Hand Book Festival was about to end.
I just wanted to see if I weren't missing a book of a lifetime waiting for me.
there were tons of books still around...
funny to see all the books I had to read when I was a college boy on sale at cheap prices...
I couldn't find a book of a lifetime, but I managed to buy one for reference...
this technical encyclopedia would need 25,000 yen if it were brand new... but I got it with one-fifth of its value... these kind of books help when you're in desperate situations facing a big accident or disaster to report on!
レースの後、神保町に急いだ。神田古本まつりの最終日が終わるところだったから。
俺を待っている生涯に一冊の本に出会い損ねてないか確認したかっただけなんだが。

生涯に一冊というような本は見つからなかったけど、とりあえず資料用の本を一冊購入…

second-hand book 古本
古本まつりの英語の案内に
Second-Hand Book Festivalとあったが、
古本やＣＤの中古ものは
よくusedを付けてused booksやused CDsと
して使ってきた。
secondhandとすると少しお上品な感じが。
使われた本というより、
２人目の手に渡った本という方が
何となく所持する方は良い気持ちがするかな。
実際は３人目、４人目、１０人目に
その本やＣＤを手にしてるかもしれないけど…。
