Could've been a signal for a general election...
Could've been a start of a two-party system...
Could've been a beginning of a new generation...
And yet, Mr. Koizumi narrowly passed the bill...
Could be a miracle in a conservative nation...
Coule be a breakthrough leading to a change...
Could be a real reform followed by more...
Could be a favorable turn for the economy...
Could be a chance to think of WHAT WE REALLY NEED...
BUT YET, why can't I believe that this COULD BE TRUE...
the plenary session of the House of Representatives started at 1 PM for the voting of the bill to reform the Japan Post. PM Koizumi passed the bill by a slim 233 to 228 votes.
The opposition can still kill the bill by rejecting it at the House of Councilors and sending it back to the House of Representatives that will need two-thirds of the votes that is soundly impossible.
BUT to be honest, the objectors of the bill just seems like the pot calling the kettle black and I hope we can go on, and talk about better subjects than a mere reform of an outdated system...

でも、小泉氏は辛くも法案を通してしまった…。
保守的な国では奇跡になるのかも…。
変化につながる突破口になるのかも…。
次々に続く本当の改革になるのかも…。
経済の好転につながるのかも…。
何が本当に必要なのか考えるチャンスになるのかも…。
それなのに、そうなるとは思えないのはなぜなんだろう…。
写真：郵政改革の法案採決のための衆院本会議が午後１時に始まった。小泉首相は２３３対２２８票で辛うじて法案を通した。
反対派は参院で否決することで法案を葬り去ることはできる。法案を衆院に送り返して、そこで３分の２という確実に不可能な票数を確保しなければならないからだ。
でも正直に言うと、法案の反対派は目くそ鼻くそを笑うような奴らだ。早く先に進んで、時代遅れの制度を改革することよりもっと大切な課題について話すことができればいいのに…。
