Dropping a close one is a hard to forget incident after all the publicity about the unfortunate happening in the game against the Americans, I think we've already learned enough, losing the second game in a row today against the Koreans.
In the two games against Korea, Team Nippon had a .263 batting average with 13 hits and 2 homers compared to Korea's .138 average, 8 hits, 1 HR... And Japan's defecit of scored runs was only two.
Get the point!?
Japan really sucks in finishing off, what we call "one chance" situations.
And obviously, with half the batting average, the Koreans' tenacity prevailed.
アメリカとの試合で起きた不幸な出来事のためにかなりの注目が集まる中、僅差の試合を落とすのは、忘れがたいものだが、もう十分学んだよね。２回連続で韓国に負けて。
韓国との２試合で日本代表が２割６分３厘の打率と１３安打、２本塁打を打ったのに比べて、韓国は１割３分８厘、８安打、１本塁打だった…。それに得点差も２点に過ぎない。
どこが問題なのか分かるよね！？
日本は最後に決めるのが下手くそだ。「ワンチャンス」の場面とよくいうものが来たときだ。
そして半分の打率なのだから、明らかに韓国チームの執念が優っていたのだ。

WBC may not have been a tournament showing how "hungry" the teams are for victory, but a theater to just have fun. But at least Ichiro didn't act that way, and many of the Koreans' reactions to the victory, being quite emotional, did not seem so either.
ＷＢＣは勝利にどれぐらい「貪欲」なのかを見せるための大会では無かったかも知れない。単に楽しむだけの舞台だったのかも。でも、少なくともイチローはそういう態度を取ってなかったし、韓国側も勝利したときのリアクションの多くを見ると、すっごい感情的なものだったけど、同じだったと言える。
Ichiro said it was the most humiliating day of his baseball career... yes, this is serious stuff!!

We have to admit we really wanted the Japanese team to win, and this time we were all not tenacious enough...
