The Fifth Anniversary of the War

Baghdad Day 43

The Fifth Anniversary of the War

Exactly five years since the Multi National Forces started their Freedom Iraq campaign. I was in a different position in a different division five years ago but I was able to be one of the coverage team of the JSDF dispatch to the Middle East four years ago and I feel the story of myself has developed a bit.
I had to give out a live coverage for our evening news and give a report out for the night news. I'm never satisfied with my work, but I think I did a fairly nice job.
The four of us had a feast at night after having dinner with some beer. I was so tired and worn out that I couldn't resist going to sleep just with a moderate amount of alcohol.
Oh well... I can sleep all I want... I can pack up tomorrow... I have no more work to do... my last mission: To get home safely!

P.S.
Enjoying our last night in Baghdad...

with wine and shochu with courtesy of our seniors who imported these in!
