With a killer typhoon heading towards the Southwest Islands of Japan and Kyushu in the next couple of days, the only day to rest was today and I went on sleeping till 3 o'clock in the afternoon!

a nice bath is what you need after a day like this!
But after my long hibernation, I went to play basketball for a moderate half an hour not to get too tired, and stepped by the JMA Weather Information Bureau and noted the Okinawa Honto Island and Amami Ohshima Island will be in the storm zone at around midnight on Sunday (that is about 24 hours from now), as I'm set to get into overnight duty tomorrow.
I also stopped by my office to give some advices to my colleagues working on the preparation for the election reporting on the 11th.
A peaceful day with a modestly tense atmosphere remembering there's much work still to complete this coming week!!
恐ろしい台風が数日後に南西諸島と九州に迫ってきている中、きょうが唯一ゆっくりできる日だったので、午後３時まで寝倒した！

バスケのコートは相変わらずがらーんとしてた！
こんな日には気持ちいいお風呂が必要だね！
でもこの長い休眠のあと、あまりつかれないようにと控えめな３０分だけバスケをやって、気象庁の天気相談所に寄って、沖縄本島と奄美大島が暴風域に入るのが日曜の夜中頃（要するに今から２４時間後）だということを確認しておいた。明日、泊まり勤務に入ることになってるから。
１１日の選挙報道の準備をしている同僚たちにアドバイスをするために職場にも寄った。
平和な日だった。やってくる週はたくさん仕事が待っているって忘れさせないような適度な緊張感がありながらね！！
good news of my favorite J1 League team capturing the leading position today beating Tokyo Verdy by one to zip.
Gamba Osaka has been my favorite a year before the team became a professional club team when the J League was established in 1992.
The team (formerly the Matshita Electric=Panasonic soccer club) magically became the Emperor's Cup champions on New Year's Day of 1991, when I came back to Japan from the States to apply for college.
Soccer wasn't a major sport in the States, but with the Osaka team winning the tournament, my interest in the sport increased drastically.
Since then Gamba had become runner-ups in the league twice, but never champions. With players making the Japan National team like Oguro, Miyamoto, and Endo, the team is ready to become number one now!
With the Hanshin Tigers still on the top spot in baseball, I'm sure my Kansai friends are in a middle of boisterous feasting!!

ガンバ大阪はＪリーグが１９９２年に創立されてプロチームとなる一年前から贔屓のチームだ。
（元々松下電器＝パナソニックのサッカークラブだった）このチームは１９９１年の正月に不思議なことに、天皇杯をいきなり制した。アメリカから日本へ大学受験のために帰ってきたときのことだ。
サッカーはアメリカではメジャースポーツではなかったが、大阪のチームが大会を勝ったことで、このスポーツに対する興味がかなり高まった。
それ以降、ガンバはリーグで２位に２回なっているが、チャンピオンになったことはない。大黒、宮本、遠藤といった日本代表に入るようなプレーヤーが揃い、チームはようやく一番になる準備が整ったようだ！
野球では、阪神タイガースもまだ首位にいるようだし、関西の連中たちはみんなお祭り騒ぎの最中だろうよ！！

辞書で見てみると、feastingの代わりに
merrymakingってのを使っても良いみたいだ。
まぁ、あんまし使わない言葉なんで、
feastの方がお祭り！って感じがするんで、
今後もこっちを使うかな。
