◆Baseball: Kanemoto ties Ripken's consecutive game record
OSAKA, April 8 KYODO
Hanshin Tigers slugger Tomoaki Kanemoto stretched his streak of playing consecutive games without missing an inning to 903 on Saturday, matching what is believed to be a major league record held by Cal Ripken Jr.
Kanemoto, who has maintained the streak since July 21, 1999 when he was with the Hiroshima Carp, is expected to break the former Baltimore Orioles star's mark set in 1982-1987 in Sunday's game against the Yokohama BayStars, the last of their three-game series against the Tigers at Osaka Dome.

阪神タイガースの主軸打者の金本知憲が土曜日に全イニング連続試合出場記録を９０３に伸ばし、非公式に大リーグ記録保持者とされているカル・リプケン・ジュニアに並んだ。
金本は広島カープ時代の１９９９年７月２１日から連続記録を続け、大阪ドームでタイガースとの３連戦の最後の試合を戦う横浜ベイスターズとの日曜日の試合で、元ボルチモア・オリオールズのスターが１９８２年から１９８７年に刻んだ記録を破るものと見られる。
