I was alone at Kobe Broadcasting Station when the fire broke out, around 5AM, hearing that at least three were trapped in a building up in flames. I think I did my job perfectly reporting about the fires in the morning news show, and working for more than 24 hours to cover the man-made disaster.
朝５時頃に火が出たときに俺は神戸放送局で一人だった。少なくとも３人が火だるまになったビルの中に取り残されていると聞いたんだ。朝のニュースに火事についての出稿をして、仕事は完璧にこなせたと思う。そしてこの人災の取材を２４時間以上にわたって行った。

I hope I haven't passed my peak ever since, but that year... the last year at Kobe was the age of brilliance to me.
I still have the burning heart inside of me, how cold it may be at the surface at this moment...
Anyhow, I hope the younger would also experience the same when it really counts!!
あれから俺のピークが過ぎてないと信じたいが、あの年は…神戸にいた最後の年は俺が輝いていた頃だ。
俺の中にはまだ燃え上がるハートがある。今は表面的にどれほど冷たくても…。
とにかく、若い人も勝負がかかったときにそんな経験ができればいいと思うね！
