Greener grass?

タイトル：もっと青い芝生？

I had to read a pile of tricky but unexciting documents today to get ready for something to cover next week.
SLOW PROGRESS though, as I was a little tired from all the work till yesterday...

来週の取材に向けて準備するためにきょうは小難しくつまらない資料の山を読まないといけなかった。
な～かなかはかどらないんだ、これが。昨日までの仕事でちょびっと疲れてたし…。

I really don't like to read dull papers at my office, and I'd rather go out and BLITZ my sources being tricky to surprise them...
But maybe my collegues out there would rather like to read documents in the office that wouldn't need any tricks, than wait for sources at their residences without any confirmation of their coming home...
Walking home this terribly freezing night, I had second thoughts... the grass is greener on the other side of the fence... They're saying it's going to be colder tomorrow... maybe I'd rather stay in that nice and warm office and read whatever...

職場で退屈な資料を読むのは好きじゃない。それよりは外に出て、気の利いた技を使って取材先を襲撃して驚かせに行きたいね…。
でも外にいる同僚たちは何の技も必要としない職場での資料読みの方が良いと言うかも知れない。帰ってくるかも分からない取材先を家の前で待ってるより…。
恐ろしく凍えそうな夜の中歩いて帰ってみると、考えが変わってきた…隣の芝生はよく見えるんだよね…。明日はもっと寒くなるって言ってるし…やっぱりあったかくて心地良い職場で何でも良いから読んでる方がいいのかも…。

I'm not a big fan of Horiemon at all, but the Japanese people and the media must not forget they had supported this guy sending him to stardom...
All right... he may have gone too far, losing his poise in all the attention...
Now everybody seems to be "pulling the ladder away".

ホリエモンは好きでも何でもないんだけど、日本国民とメディアはこの人をおしてスターダムにのし上げたことを忘れちゃいけないね…。
まぁいいや…きっと彼はやり過ぎたんだろう。みんなの注目を浴びる中、落ち着きを失って…。今やみんなが「はしごをはずしている」ように見えるね。

Will this guy end up being a Hideyoshi, in his latter days going too far and giving up everything to a much more unflappable and a wellborn Ieyasu, or like Napoleon losing the support of his people at the end and being thrown out by the much more conventional English army...

shall we say they were successful?
SURE!! they made it BIG in history!!

So far so bad... let's see if he'll get another chance!

この人は秀吉になっちゃうんだろうか。人生の終盤にやりすぎて、すべてをもっと冷静で良家の出身の家康に明け渡して。もしくはナポレオンだろうか。最後には人心の支持も失い、伝統的な英軍に流されて…。
