scenes in Sakai... including a while at home!

It was a rainy day, but me and my dad had a brief stroll in central Sakai City. My parents live in the suburbs of this city after they've returned from Singapore.
I didn't have enough time to explore the area in the past, but this time, dainty foods that can easily lure gourmets have convinced my hesitant body still stuffed with yesterday's alcohol, to go outside. Soba noodles of Chikuma were the first on the menu. The soba noodles in steaming baskets' style were quite tasty, and I forgot all about the distressing weather outside.
After a five minute walk we were eating some traditional kurumi mochi(=walnut rice cake) of Kanbukuro. Sweet but not too rich in taste, which makes you eat more than you can! We decided to take out some of them home. I was told that this was a typical date course for couples in their sweet days.
At night, it was baseball time with sushi! The first ever interleague games in Japanese professional baseball history were played today in five stadiums (one was postponed). We watched our favorite Hanshin Tigers play the Nippon Ham Fighters in Sapporo on television. The last two innings rally had brought the team from behind to an overwhelming 10-2 victory.
Not bad to finish a day like this. And I only had one can of beer! Rest well my livers...
(today's phrase)
