While walking in the city under a 40 plus degree environment I saw so many workers, who I persume are coming from the south Asian area, battling with the heat and constructing things I can't understand what more they would want! This is called civilization whether you like it or not!
The prices were very high and I could understand the mechanism... You have to pay more workers to lure them to the job and finish the job quickly as possible... the tenant and commission fees would become higher... products will be higher... workers would need more pay to even continue on... the spiral will continue forever and since the developers have almost eternal wealth, they don't care if the prices rise!
We're seeing inflation in Iran too, but it's a very different reason that the prices are rising, but still I think it's all coming from the oil money... money that the Japanese are really devoted to pay to continue its civilization...
I kind of understand the emptiness here, but what can we do!? It's too late to go back, and since no one had stopped Adam from eating the apple, who can we blame for using the fossil fuels to get so civilized!? No one can... and we have to stay in this path of greed and the desire of wealth... What an enlightment that is!
PS
For the record...
I left my office at 2:30AM to catch the flight to Dubai... It was so early that I had enough time to...

have a cup of Cappuccino (35,000IRR) at the Imam Khomeini International Airport...

I also found out there is free wireless internet available at the airport!
After a delay, leaving at around 6AM and reaching Dubai before 8AM...

wireless surfing possible here too at the baggage claim area!
It was another plus 40 degrees day... after finishing my task, I walked around the Deira area, and decided to stay in the area till my flight...

walking to Al Ghrair City...
but I found out a fatal fact...

since it's Ramadan time all the food serving shops are closed! even Starbucks!

the mall was open, but in the morning there were not much people hanging around...
I stopped by...

the supermarket...

and here I found...

Japanese food!

wow... you can buy so many Japanese recipes here!

they even had fresh Japanese fruits and vegetables!
In the rising heat...

I walked around the old business area to find what I wanted...

no... not Burger King (it's in the middle to the right in the pic) this time...
it's not open anyways!
Here!

where I can see the creek (lines in the pic are the shadows from the blinds)
The blissful moment of the day!

a sashimi teishoku (meal) for lunch!
50Dhs! a little expensive! but who cares!!
I wandered again...

found a famous roundabout on the way...
To the familiar City Centre again!

by the way, you can find Carrefour here!

sending a post card to Mom saying happy birthday!
2Dhs for the card and 3.5Dhs for sending!
there's still something thrifty here!

yeap, the food court is closed! so no Whopper for me today!
After finishing shopping, I waited in line for 45 minutes to get a cab! My boarding time was approaching and I was sweating! I kind of understood how it would feel to be alone in the battlefield and when you see the tanks of an ally arrives for help...

the cabs coming one after another were the real reinforcements for shoppers!
I barely made it to the boarding time as everything was on time, and I was a little greedy to stop by the duty free shopping area...

I received an Iftar set... yes it is Ramadan!
Looking out the window on my return flight...

the moon was beautiful... luckily the flight was earlier than schedule...
30 minutes at the passport control and 15 minutes at the customs area, but I managed to leave the airport just after 10PM and reached my office at 11PM!
Anyways, I gotta get a bath!!
