sometimes the buildings I always see soothes me...

I'm drunk all night having beers with what we journalists call "sources", but actually at peaceful nights are just friends to have a drink with.
We try to drink our guts out with these guys as they would be our best friends when we're really in trouble. But where to set the lines between being friends and being partners of business is a delicate matter.
We can't just be innocent friends when we're talking business when the sun is watching us, but at nights we suddenly become a drinking companion. But that's how it is with a Japanese community, and we become deeply interested in each other when we drink like crazy or go to hot springs and have a heart to heart talk all naked and hiding nothin'.
I like these kind of pleasant nights. That's why I'm staying in this country being so passionate, which maybe will not be understood by cool westerners!!

(today's phrase)
have a heart to heart talk
Hey now, some "westerners" can appreciate stuff like that too. I think bonding in our drunkenness and having heart to heart talks is something that's enjoyed everywhere in the world across cultures.
ReplyDeleteHowever, going to hot springs & being comfortably naked in front of your friends/coworkers there is something you don't see often out here. I must admit that part isn't commonly enjoyed by westerners. I don't understand why not - everyone walks around naked in fitness gym locker rooms anyway.
Oh how I miss the Japanese onsens...(Kinosaki was awesome).
- your hardworking sister (it's 5:30am Cali time right now...)
You're right. I envy the life with a bunch of home parties on Fridays and Saturdays. With Californian wine and good roast beefs.
ReplyDeleteI also miss all those barbeque parties at community parks. At my age I couldn't touch the Budweisers in front of my parents...
Maybe it'll be my dream forever to go back to the States and have a life there!
