Storm in Early Spring...

Haru Ichiban in Shibuya (from Nikkei Net) Posted by Hello
Strong winds blew today thoughout the country and the Japan Meterological Agency announced "Haru Ichiban" (literally "the First one of Spring", meaning the first strong and warm south wind after spring has come on the calendar) blew in areas like Kanto and Kinki.
The temperature today reached 19.4 degrees Celsius which is the warmth of late April.
The wind blows because of the low pressure crossing the Japan Sea taking in warm air from the south. It's also a sign of the beginning of the hay fever season which many Japanese suffer from.
Luckily I still haven't experienced the agony of coughing and crying from it, but many say living in Tokyo, with so many dusts blowing around, makes the inhabitants hay fever potential carriers.
I see many colleagues wearing masks not just for the flu. I hope I won't be one of them...
